FUGITIVE CAPTURED October 16, 2014 –
Yourhighness Jeremiah-Bolar was booked into the King County Jail on Thursday.

FUGITIVES UPDATE October 10, 2014 –
With help from WMW viewers, Newcastle police say two of the four suspects have been identified.

Detectives say one is the accused lookout man, Yourhighness Jeremiah-Bolar.

The other suspect is a juvenile, so he is not being named.

Yourhighness is facing charges of burglary, theft, trafficking stolen property and malicious mischief.

Police want your help finding him as well as knowing the identity of final two suspects.

FUGITIVES WANTED IN NEWCASTLE August 27, 2014 –
Four thieves who used rocks, a crowbar and violent kicks to smash through a glass door of Newcastle Jewelry destroyed the most valuable items during the burglary.

Joan and Wayne Underwood have been making and selling custom jewelry for 20 years.

“It’s just kind of a family shop,” said Joan, who is frustrated that the thieves kicked over a glass cabinet during the break-in that held thousands of dollars in crystal collectibles.

“They were signed and numbered pieces that they no longer make, the guy just pushed the cabinet over, broke all but six crystals that were in that cabinet,” she lamented.

Newcastle police are hoping someone recognizes the four suspects. They stole about 50 watches, some gold money clips and tie bars but nothing really expensive.

“You know, you work hard all day long, you’re trying to make an honest living, and they come in and steal things,” said Joan.

The couple is known for supporting numerous charities. Their store is the kind of place people come to have tea and visit, not just to shop.

The crooks left behind broken hearts and sense of violation.

“It’s sad that there’s so much of this going on,” said Joan.

Above is a photo of a the vehicle they suspects may have been driving. It rolled slowly past the store right before the burglary.

High-risk child rapist arrested after wild chase near Sequim

CAPTURED October 25, 2014 —
Kenneth Johnson was captured after a wild chase early Saturday morning in the Sequium area. Here is the update from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office:

Law enforcement officers from throughout the area converged on the Sequim area last
night and captured the man that has eluded capture for a couple of weeks.

Kenneth Scott Johnson was taken into custody near Discovery Bay this morning after
deputies and law enforcement chased him through the city of Sequim and eastward along
101.

At about 0100 am early Saturday morning, deputies received information that Johnson
was in a Subaru in Sequim. Finding the car, deputies attempted to make a car stop.
When the driver came out of the car at deputy’s directions, Johnson assumed control of
the car and sped off. The driver told deputies and officers that Johnson was in the car and
that he had a rifle.

A pursuit ensued throughout the Sequim area. At the intersection of Maple and Sequim-
Dungeness Way, Johnson stopped the Subaru behind a Mazda Miata at the stop sign,
jumped out and, armed with the rifle, carjacked the driver of the Miata, quickly departing
toward 101.

Law enforcement pursued Johnson in the Miata east on 101. Speeds were not extremely
high as Johnson slowed to throw things out of the car to deter law enforcements pursuit.
Jefferson County deputies, alerted to the chase, set up spike strips near Discovery Bay at
two locations. Johnson hit both strips but continued to travel east. Finally, a Port Angeles
Police Officer was able to stop Johnson using PIT maneuver just east of Fat Smitty’s on
101. A PIT maneuver is an action officers are trained in that causes a moving car to lose
control without incurring a lot of damage. The loss of control is sudden and dramatic,
and there is little the driver can do to stop it. In this case, it worked well, and Johnson

was quickly taken into custody. He was treated at OMC for a cut on the forehead before
he was booked.

Johnson was wanted on three misdemeanor warrants, two felony warrants, and at least
one felony charge of failing to register as a sex offender. Further charges relating to the
theft of the Subaru, the Carjacking of the Miata while armed and felony elude will also be
referred for the prosecutors review and charging decision.

FUGITIVE UPDATE October 23, 2014 –
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office says after actively chasing missing sex offender, Kenneth “Tiny” Johnson in the woods west off Youngquist Road near Sequim, they lost the track for him and were not able to catch him.

The Sheriff’s office asks anyone who know where is, to call:
(360) 417-2305 which is the sheriff’s office tip line set up for the manhunt.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN CLALLAM COUNTY October 10, 2014 –
Kenneth ‘Tiny’ Johnson is a level three sex offender – the worst of the worst – who has gone off the grid in Clallam County.

He’s a convicted child rapist who’s also been busted for child molestation, assault, domestic violence, giving drugs to a minor, and a gun crime.

FUGITIVE CAPTURED October 25, 2014 –
Everett police say Washington’s Most Wanted viewer tips led the arrest of Brandon Fore on Saturday.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN EVERETT October 24, 2014  –
Halloween is just a week away but it’s not too early to watch out for creepers trying to get into your home.

Take a look at this surveillance video that Everett police say shows a home burglar they were able to quickly identify because the image is so clear. His name is Brandon Fore.

Fore is no stranger to cops, and now he’s wanted for breaking into the house and ripping off the owner.

“So Fore is here at the door, what he will do is he will knock a couple of times and he’ll end up peering through the door to see if anybody’s inside,” said Ofc. Aaron Snell. “He also turns around and looks to make sure none of the neighbors are paying attention to him. He does check the sides to see if maybe there’s any hidden keys, and he’ll peer inside to check and see if there’s any movement in the house. And then ultimately he’ll turn and he’ll leave and he’ll walk around the house to the back where he’ll access the residence. Once a house is burglarized he takes it to the pawn shop. in this case, he actually used his own name to pawn the items that were stolen from this house.”

He took his time breaking into their house and was very methodical about it, so it’s likely not his first, and likely won’t be his last burglary — unless he’s busted.

So if you know where Everett detectives can find wanted home burglar, Brandon Fore,

High-risk rapist, Michael Carroll, was arrested by Tukwila police on Saturday.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN KING COUNTY April 19, 2014 –
This case is an example of why many think our state needs tougher sentencing laws for rapists.

Michael Carroll is a convicted sex offender who told one of his victims that the sound of her crying turned him on. This predator lured a classmate to his home in 1980, where he raped her and beat her with a rope. He told her he had been planning it for days.

But, it’s not his only rape conviction. “Not long after he got out of prison from that conviction, he approached another woman on the street who he didn’t know. He dragged her into his vehicle, took her to a vacant house and sexually assaulted her repeatedly,” says King County Sgt. Cindi West. “He made a comment to her that he didn’t care if he went back to prison cause he just got out. This guy is a predator. We’re worried that he might try to find another victim and we really need to locate him.”

FBI says vehicle identification, tips from the public lead to arrest of accused serial ‘Roscoe Bandit’ bank robber

roscoe bandit

FUGITIVE CAPTURED November 12, 2014 –
The Seattle Safe Streets Task Force believes the bank robber nicknamed “The Roscoe Bandit” is in custody.

On Wednesday afternoon, Grants Pass Police Department detectives arrested William Mitchell, 55, in Grants Pass, Oregon. The SSSTF believes Mitchell may be identifiable as The Roscoe Bandit who has allegedly committed at least four bank robberies in Washington state:

  • Monday, July 28, 2014 – HomeStreet Bank on East Broadway, Seattle, WA
  • Tuesday, July 29, 2014 – Wells Fargo Bank on Third Avenue, Seattle, WA
  • Thursday, October 30, 2014 – Timberland Bank on Washington Street SE, Olympia, WA
  • Friday, November 7, 2014 – Numerica Credit Union on W. Riverside Avenue, Spokane, WA

A Federal Arrest Warrant was issued Wednesday morning in the Western District of Washington, charging Mitchell with bank robbery.

Spokane Police Department officers identified Mitchell after collecting and reviewing surveillance footage associated with the November 7th bank robbery in Spokane. Officers identified a vehicle of interest in the video and followed that lead to develop further information about the Roscoe Bandit. This information ultimately led to his identification. Community assistance also played a significant part in that process, both in terms of tips generated by media publicity and cooperation during police interviews.

The FBI says this capture reflects partnerships across the northwest. In addition to the alert and proactive effort by the Grants Pass Police Department, this investigation is being conducted jointly by the Spokane Police Department, the Olympia Police Department, and the FBI throughout Washington and Oregon.

FUGITIVE WANTED BY FBI, August 14, 2014 –
Seattle police need your helping bagging an armed bank robber. Detectives say he robbed two banks in Seattle back-to-back last month on the 28th and 29th, and the gun he used got him named the “Roscoe Bandit.”

Retired Seattle detective Myrle Carner explains why as he takes you through his heists.

“As you look at these videos, you’re going to see two different videos, same suspect. In one video he’s wearing a red coat. In the other one he’s got a blue outfit, with a very distinctive hat, somebody knows what those initials mean on that. But, here’s this guy. He’s very calm, cool, collected. In the one bank robbery as you watch the video, you’ll see where he just pulls up his shirt and exposes the gun. In the other video where he’s wearing the red coat, that’s why we’ve nicknamed him the ‘Roscoe Bandit,’ because he points a very large, looks like a revolver at the victim in this case, the teller. And, there’s an old term, guys that carry old guns like that, we nicknamed them ‘Roscoe’, so hence we call him the ‘Roscoe Bandit’. Give us a call. This guy is very dangerous.”

Authorities need your help identifying the robber before he pulls the trigger. They think he’s black, in his late 30s, about 6-feet-tall, and was wearing that distinctive baseball hat with the letters CA intertwined on it.

Ari King: ‘Person of Interest’ in murder of Diane Cunningham

CAPTURE UPDATE November 12, 2014 –
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office says Ari King was located yesterday and arrested for the murder of Diane Cunningham in September of this year.

King, 41 of Sequim, was located living under a bridge with his dog in a remote area of central Oregon less than 20 miles from where Mrs. Cunningham’s car was recovered in early October. King was found after detectives from Clallam County travelled to the area on Tuesday to search for leads on King’s whereabouts and to follow up on those leads. Yesterday, the detectives learned from workers in a café in the small village of Juntura, Oregon, that Mr. King had been seen in the area recently. With assistance from officials from the Malheur County Sheriff’s Office in Oregon, King was located and arrested on probable cause for murder.

‘PERSON OF INTEREST’ SOUGHT IN PORT ANGELES October 22, 2014 –
A local woman is asking for the public’s help in finding a man who police say is their only “person of interest” in her mother’s murder.

On Oct. 6, Tami Wilson found her mother, Diane Cunningham, 65, bludgeoned to death in her Clallam County mobile home in Joyce.

“I can’t imagine any human being doing that to another human being; it was gruesome, I mean, it was a massacre. It was horrible,” Wilson said.

“That was the worst day of my life. I mean, I lost it. It was really hard. Nobody should have to die like that, nobody should have to find their mother like that.

“I’m afraid whoever did this to her is going to do it to someone else. I want justice for my mom, but I’m very afraid he’s going to hurt someone else.”

Investigators want to question 41-year-old Ari Lee King, a Solmar neighborhood resident who moved out to Clallam County from King County last year.

King was one of the last people seen with  Cunningham in the Salt Creek RV Park in Joyce.

According to investigators, detectives have been trying to retrace Cunningham’s actions during the last week of September. Detectives uncovered video surveillance footage of Cunningham with King at the 7 Cedars Casino and a Port Angeles Walmart in the early morning of Sept. 28.

King has not been seen since late September.

Shortly after the discovery of Cunningham’s body, police received word her car was located in a remote area of Malheur County, Ore.

“They found her car on the Idaho-Oregon border and I talked to someone who said they saw him in her car after she was dead, so he needs to talk to police and clear himself if he’s not guilty,” Wilson said.

Alluding to her mom, Wilson said, “It just wasn’t her time and it’s not fair they robbed me of my mom and my kids of their grandma.”

ari Bubba the dog (3)

King is 6-foot, 250 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He is believed to be in the company of his dog Bubba, who is described as a light-colored pit bull-German Shepard mix.

Anyone that may have information in this case or know the whereabouts of King is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-tips or the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 360-417-2305

Brandon Farmer, 29, who is in custody in West Virginia, has been charged with Velma Tirado’s murder in 2006.

CAPTURE UPDATE November 12, 2014 –
“This was my one unsolved case over the last decade or so. For me, personally, to have this case solved is very satisfying,” Tacoma police Cold Case Unit detective Gene Miller said Wednesday.

A first-degree murder charge was filed earlier Wednesday against Brandon Lee Farmer, 29, who is in custody in West Virginia on unrelated charges.

Det. Miller says the break in the case and Farmer’s arrest came from a great cooperative effort with Tacoma police, the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office, the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab and the FBI.

Pierce County prosecutors say Farmer shot dead Velma Tirado, 45, in Tacoma on Aug. 27, 2006.

According to prosecutors, Farmer and his friend, Dusty Titus, picked up Tirado, a mother of six who was working as a prostitute in downtown Tacoma, and drove to a nearby alley. Prosecutors say that after Farmer had Tirado perform a sex act on him, he pulled out a revolver and shot her in the head.

“When patrol officers got to the scene, literally all that was there was the victim, very little evidence for us to work with, unfortunately,” Miller said.

No suspects were identified at the time and the case was referred to the Cold Case Unit.

And then, just a few weeks ago, Miller got a call from a district attorney in California.

“He explained to me that he had an individual down there who was hoping to share some information on a case in the city of Tacoma.”

That individual was Titus, who said he was the driver of the pickup truck that night Velma was killed.

“The information that person provided included not only details of the case that only someone present would know, but also details about the person that was actually responsible for the shooting,” Miller said.

Titus, in an interview with Miller and the FBI, identified Farmer as the shooter, prosecutors said.

“Farmer then admitted to Miller that he was present during the murder,” the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.

Velma’s family says they are ecstatic at the news.

Velma’s sister, Ladean Avilia made a plea to the killer when we first talked to her last year.

“We forgive you. We just want you to turn yourself in. You can’t run no more. Get tired of running. There’s a time when you stop and just turn yourself in,” Avilia said.

Velma’s daughter, Vanessa Mowat just wanted answers. “We just want to know who did it and why. You took our mom and my kid’s grandma.”

Now , with a suspect charged, efforts are under way to bring Farmer back to Washington state from West Virginia.

Detective Gene Miller of the Tacoma Police Department’s Cold Case Unit has been waiting eight years to find Velma Tirado’s killer.

KILLER WANTED IN TACOMA May 24, 2013 –
It’s been seven years since Velma Tirado’s daughter learned her mother had been murdered.

Tirado was 45 years old, and left behind six kids. Vanessa Mowat is the second oldest, and remembers hearing the news from a cousin. “I asked, ‘did you guys see my mom? Did you hear from her?’ And, she said, ‘No, we didn’t hear from her.’ She just started crying and I said, ‘what’s wrong?’ She said, ‘auntie Velma’s dead,’ and I couldn’t breathe.”

It all started in the early morning hours of August 27th, 2006. Tirado was working as a prostitute when something went wrong. Tacoma police Det. Gene Miller took WMW’s Parella Lewis to the murder scene. “It’s believed she was picked up down there by the suspect in the suspect’s vehicle, and transported to this location, and it was this location that things went bad.” It was just before 3am in the 1900 block of Fawcett Ave. in downtown Tacoma. Two witnesses parked nearby saw the horror unfold. “The victim was in the vehicle as was the suspect and there was some type of struggle that took place inside the vehicle,” says Det. Miller. “And, as the victim was attempting to exit the vehicle, the first shot was fired.” That shot hit Velma and blew out the passenger side window. The suspect then fired a second round and Velma fell out of the truck and hit the ground. “It was after the suspect vehicle had fled, the victim was able to get up, travel a short distance northbound, and went down and died,” says Det. Miller.

According to witnesses, the suspect was driving a dark-colored, ‘beater-style’ ’80′s or ’90′s truck. Detectives are releasing this information to the public for the first time — hoping to jog someone’s memory and get the tip they need to crack the case. “I’m hoping that someone is going to think back and remember somebody that they know,” says Det. Miller. “Somebody who’s a neighbor. Somebody who’s an associate. Somebody who had a vehicle that matches that description that came up with a broken window on the passenger side.”
