FUGITIVES WANTED IN SEATTLE —
Seattle Police are looking for three suspects accused in a vicious attack on a man that put him in the hospital for two weeks.

On Sept. 23rd, two days after the victim got a letter from his landlord telling him he needed to move out of his apartment on 25th Avenue, detectives say Veronica Gonzales, Jamal Johnson and an unidentified black man showed up and started yelling through the apartment door that the victim needed to leave and turn over the keys. He refused so police say the suspects broke out the victim’s window and started climbing inside. The victim took off running out the front door, but police say Johnson caught up to him armed with a metal bat. “He proceeds to beat the victim in the leg until he actually breaks the leg in half and then to humiliate him even further, they strip him of his clothes, take the pants and take off running,” said Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound.

Take a good look at the face of the armed marijuana store robber in the red jacket.

He and his crew hit the ‘NiMBiN Pot Shop’ in south King County and detectives are hoping you can tell them the names of all three suspects.

“You can see that they’re kind of hidden off in the distance, waiting for vehicles to leave,” says King County Sgt. Cindi West. “Once the last car leaves the three of them come up to the store. One of them goes inside with a gun and starts pointing the gun at the employees, he’s actually pretty rough with them, you can see him kind of pushing one of the employees around and then demanding money. The second suspect comes in, goes to the other side of the store and starts stealing some marijuana packets off of the shelf. The third suspect stands by the door outside and guards it during the entire time. Once they’ve got what they want they all flee on foot. We want to get them off the street. This is dangerous. You can clearly see that they’re brazen, going in there in the middle of the evening, pushing employees around, getting what they want and then leaving.”

You can only see the face of the suspect with the gun who's wearing the red jacket.

The second suspect wore a distinct, dark jacket with red patches on the shoulders and the numbers ‘1972’ down the front.

FUGITIVE CAPTURED November 9, 2015 —
Ronald Rutledge was caught Monday night near Loon Lake in Stevens County.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN LINCOLN COUNTY November 6, 2015 —
A manhunt is on in Lincoln County for ‘armed and dangerous’ inmate, Ronald Rutledge, who pulled-off a daring escape from the jail in Davenport.

Surveillance video shows him darting across the parking lot where he’s able to steal a kitchen worker’s car because he’d swiped her keys from inside the jail earlier.

Another camera shows what happened right before his mad dash. His in a black and white striped jail uniform. He was working kitchen duty and was let outside to take out the trash. He goes off camera and you see the workers reaction when she sees him bolt — putting her hands to her face in disbelief.

Deputies say Rutledge drove her car to a house, ditched it, then stole an ATV and possibly a rifle -- causing authorities to consider him ‘armed and dangerous.’

They were searching for him last weekend north of Reardon, but he's still on the run.

Rutledge is serving time for burglary and stealing cars.

This isn't the first time he's escaped from custody. He took off from a work release detail while in the Whitman County Jail in 2010.

FUGITIVES CAPTURED November 16, 2015 —
Puyallup Police arrested Brandon Wyatt for car prowling on Monday.

He was booked into the Puyallup City Jail on numerous charges.

Treyana Evans was arrested Monday by Tacoma Police thanks to Crime Stoppers tips from Washington’s Most Wanted viewers.

She is WMW Capture #692

FUGITIVES WANTED IN TACOMA October 13, 2015 —
Tacoma Police are asking for the public’s help to find the two suspects charged with breaking into a cancer patient’s car and stealing his Make a Wish foundation gifts.

Alex Burdo, 18, and his father, Gerry, said after eating at a Tacoma restaurant, they went outside to their car and noticed thieves had smashed their windows and stole everything they had inside.

The two were in Western Washington from Connecticut for bird watching. It’s a hobby Alex picked up at a young age, and one he says got him through a difficult time in his life.

“In the last six years, birding has given me something to look forward to,” said Alex.

After being diagnosed with cancer, the Make a Wish Foundation granted Alex a wish, including $10,000 in camera equipment to further his bird-watching experiences, but all the items were stolen.

After their interview aired on Q13 FOX News, Tacoma Police received information identifying Brandon Wyatt aka 'Dook' and Treyana Evans aka 'Treyana Heads' as the suspects. Now both have been charged in the case.

Wyatt is wanted by Tacoma Police, DOC and the Mason County Sheriff's Office for Possession of Stolen Property in the 2nd degree & Escape from Community Custody (on probation for Assault 2 with a Deadly Weapon) & Promoting Prostitution in the 2nd degree.

He has felony convictions for burglary, narcotics possession, trafficking stolen property, theft and assault. He is 5’10”, 185 lbs.

Wyatt also has several large tattoos.

Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment Missing Attachment

Evans is wanted by Tacoma Police, DOC and the Mason County Sheriff's Office for Possession of Stolen Property in the 2nd degree & Prostitution & Criminal Trespass in the 1st degree. She has a felony conviction for unlawful possession of a firearm. She is 5’1”, 120 lbs.

Instead of canceling the trip, Alex and his dad decided to stay in Western Washington. They said the Seattle Audubon Society even loaned them some binoculars, so they could continue their bird-watching journey.

In addition to camera equipment, they say the thieves stole a wallet with $10,000 in cash, money they were going to use for the trip.

Alex and his dad say the thieves can keep the cash but say they’d really like the camera and binoculars back because of the special meaning they hold.

“It’s hurtful in that he’s fought for so long for so hard and sacrificed so much that the value to someone else wouldn’t be what it is to him,” said Gerry.

FUGITIVE CAPTURED November 23, 2015 —
Raven Cutler was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail in Hillsboro, Oregon on Monday.

The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office says Cutler was caught after showing someone at a truck stop a newspaper article with her photo and that she was being sought in the murder investigation. Detectives say a call was made to local law enforcement and she was picked up.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN YAKIMA COUNTY November 20, 2015 —
A woman is shot in the head three times. Her body is left down a rural road.

Now, Yakima County detectives have named a ‘person of interest’ in the murder who they hope you can help find.

Take a good look at the four photos of 16-time convicted felon, Raven Cutler. You can see she’s inked with tattoos on her chest, neck and above her eyebrows. Detectives say her driver’s license photo where she has a Mohawk haircut is the closest to how she looks now — but they think she could be disguising herself as an older person by wearing a wig and walking with a cane.

Detectives say Cutler mostly lives homeless, hangs out a lot in downtown Yakima and is believed to still be in the area.

Mark Sampayan pleaded ‘not guilty’ to first degree robbery charge.

His bail remains at $250,000 after a judge denied a reduction based on Sampayan being a danger to the community.

SAMPAYAN

Robbery suspect, Mark Sampayan, in court Wednesday

CASE UPDATE November 17, 2015 —
Charges have been filed in the case of the Shoreline grandmother who was attacked that you helped solve.

All of you know how much time I spent working on this case and am so proud of the effort by all of our WMW viewers, Det. Christina Bartlett, Sgt. Cindi West and Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound to get Lila the justice she deserves.

Levi Pulkkinen posted a story on WWW.SeattlePI.com about the charges.

Lahaina Sarmiento told detectives that she, Mark Sampayan and Alexander Leyva lost all their money earlier in the day gambling at the Tulalip Casino. Hungry, broke and high on methamphetamine, the detective said the group went to Haggen to steal food but then Sampayan stole the elderly woman’s purse instead, knocking her down when she tried to hold onto it. After the robbery, they divided up the contents of the her purse and went on a spending spree.

I aired the surveillance video on Washington’s Most Wanted of them using her credit cards at numerous stores from Mill Creek to Ballard and your tips to Crime Stoppers led to their identification.

One suspect, Alexander Leyva, swore he would surrender and even begged detectives not to put him on Washington’s Most Wanted.

Sampayan is now being held on $250,000 bail and will be arraigned Nov. 25th.

Thank you all for helping Lila!!

CAPTURE UPDATE November 9, 2015 —
The last of the four wanted suspects, Alex Leyva, surrendered on Monday.

King County detectives arrested Mark Sampayan and Orlando Mendoza Friday night at a home in Seattle thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip from a Washington’s Most Wanted viewer.

Sampayan is the suspect accused of hurting the Shoreline grandmother when he knocked her down during a purse theft. Her face was terribly bruised and swollen and she broke a rib.

Lahaina Sarmiento did the right thing and surrendered to King County detectives on October 28th.

CASE UPDATE October 30, 2015 —
Another major break in the case that so many of you have helped solve: King County detectives say they have now identified four suspects accused in the attack and robbery of an 85 year old woman in Shoreline.

One is in custody after surrendering this week. Lana Sarmiento did the right thing and turned herself in. Investigators say she was driving the getaway vehicle, a white Chrysler New Yorker.

Now, detectives are asking for your help finding the other three suspects, especially Mark Sampayan, who deputies say is the one who stole the victim’s purse and injured her. “This guy clearly knows everybody is looking for him,” says King County Sgt. Cindi West. “He cut his hair after being featured on Washington’s Most Wanted and he’s the one we want the most out of this group because he’s the one responsible for injuring the elderly victim.”

The other two suspects are Orlando Mendoza, a.k.a. ‘Orly,’ who has two felony convictions for drugs and forgery and Alex Leyva, who detectives say is seen strolling through the aisles of the Shoreline Fred Meyer store before he used the victim’s credit cards to buy gift cards. “We’re hopeful that as we’re progressing and we’re getting tips that the rest of them will be in custody shortly,” adds Sgt. West.

If you can tell deputies where to find Mark Sampayan, Orlando ‘Orly’ Mendoza or Alex Leyva, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

lila 3CAPTURE UPDATE October 28, 2015 --
Lahaina Sarmiento did the right thing and surrendered to King County detectives on Wednesday.

She is accused of using the stolen credit cards belonging to an 85-year-old woman named Lila who was attacked outside the Haggen store in Shoreline for her purse.

The two other suspects in the case are still unidentified.

CASE UPDATE October 23, 2015 --
There's been a major break in this despicable crime

King County detectives say thanks to Washington's Most Wanted viewer tips they've identified the female suspect as Lahaina 'Lana' Sarmiento.

"People have a sense that this could be my mom, this could be my grandma and then seeing her injuries even makes it worse. We had more tips on this case than I think I've ever had on this case and they all named her as the suspect," says King County Sgt. Cindi West. "We need to get her off the streets for a couple of reasons: She committed a crime by using our victim's credit cards but secondly, she's probably out there committing other crimes too. It appears to be how she makes her living."

Sarmiento has four felony convictions for forgery and possession of stolen property as well as six gross misdemeanors for car prowling and theft.

She's just one piece of the puzzle: Detectives are still trying to identify an Asian man who used Lila's credit card to buy gift cards. Surveillance video shows him at the Shoreline Fred Meyer as he strolls through the aisles. He was last seen driving off in a silver PT Cruiser. Detectives are hoping he or Sarmiento can lead them to the suspect who actually stole the victim's purse. He's described as a black man in his 20's who rand to a 1992 white Chrysler New Yorker in Washington state license plates AWA-8017.

FUGITIVES WANTED IN KING COUNTY October 14, 2015 --
King County Sheriff’s Detectives are trying to identify three suspects connected to the attack and robbery of a Shoreline grandmother last month.

The 85-year-old and her husband were loading their groceries into the van at Haggen on Aurora Avenue N. when a thief attacked.

“It was so fast, I couldn`t believe it. He got my purse and I fell flat on my face,” said Lila.

Photos of her taken at the hospital are heartbreaking. They show her face bruised and swollen.

She also suffered a fractured rib but despite injuries, her spirit is not broken.

“Horrible, horrible,” said her daughter-in-law Marcia who took the photos.

"She smiles. It's just so indicative of who she is, she smiles," said Marcia.

While Lila was being treated at the hospital, detectives say a woman and two men were using her credit cards at stores in Mill Creek, North Seattle, Ballard and Shoreline.

"These three thugs go in and they start buying gift cards, I-pads and things like that with her credit card," said Sgt. Cindi West.

Surveillance video shows the woman dressed in shorts and a distinctive Nike t-shirt.

"There's one store where the female is buying slurpees of all things," said Sgt. West.

There's also good video of the second suspect at the Fred Meyer store in Ballard.

"He appears to be just kind of nonchalantly walking through the aisles deciding what he`s gonna buy. It appears he bought a couple of gift cards," she said.

Detectives have one image of the third suspect, an Asian man who is shorter and has long hair.

"It takes the lowest of the low to make a child a victim or an elderly person a victim so we want all three of these people in custody. That's our goal," said Sgt. West.

Lila figures certain things are just meant to be.

"I really wasn't that upset about it," said Lila but she does want justice.

"I'll help put the handcuffs on," she joked.

Her family is hoping somebody recognizes the suspects.

"We're outraged that something like this could happen to an 85-year-old woman within a mile of her home," said Marcia.

TARGETFUGITIVE WANTED IN SEATTLE November 20, 2015 --
We're heading into the holiday season and traditionally, we start to see more shoplifting cases.

Stores are on alert and you should be too because guys like this unidentified suspect are prowling the aisles looking to steal and this time -- it turned into a robbery.

Take a look at the fight caught on a surveillance camera as the accused thief tries to get out the door of the Target store on SW Barton St. in Seattle. It all started because loss prevention officers were tracking him with their surveillance cameras, following him as he roamed through the store. At one point, he squats down near some electronics, kind of looks around all shifty-like, grabs a mobile charging device and some other electronics and stuffs them in his pocket as he stands up to stroll away. He heads back through the store and tries to leave, but the officers are on to him and stop him and that's when the shoplift turned into a robbery. "They grab the suspect at the door and say, ‘We saw you shoplift, hand over the stuff.’” Says Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “At that point a pretty good fight ensues, in fact, it goes on for several seconds. As you watch the video, at one point you will see where the loss prevention people back off, that's because the suspect reaches in his pocket and pulls out what turned out to be a box cutter. He takes a swipe at the one guy's face. He backs off and at that point, they let him go and he runs from the store, but we’ve got a pretty good look at this guy. Keep in mind about a box cutter. These things are razor blades. Somebody could've died.”

Bail set at $1 million for Renton man accused of killing Dorian Haddix in Covington

$

0

SEATTLE — A King County judge found probable cause Monday to hold an 18-year-old Renton man in jail on $1 million bail in connection with the shooting death of Dorian Haddix in Covington on Nov. 17.

The King County Sheriff’s Office said in court documents that detectives recovered Haddix’s cell phone at the scene of the crime and discovered his last communication was with another man, who they were able to trace. That man told detectives that on the night of Nov. 17, he brokered a “business” deal between Haddix and the suspect and that he and the suspect drove to Covington to meet Haddix. That’s when Haddix was killed.

The witness said a video recording was made of the suspect talking and joking about where he shot Haddix, and that video was turned over to the sheriff’s office.

The suspect was later arrested. He is not being identified yet because he has not been formally charged.

TEXT BELOW IS FROM AN EARLIER STORY ON THIS CASE:

COVINGTON, Wash. -- Investigators have no idea who shot and killed a Seattle man, whose body was found on a road in Covington last month. But the family is hoping someone will come forward to provide answers.

"November 18th, 2015, was by far the worst day of my entire life," said Dawnese Witherspoon, mother of murder victim Dorian Haddix.

She wonders why her son, who lived in Seattle, was at SE Timberlane Boulevard and 185th Court SE in Covington on that date. And why he was murdered.

King County sheriff's Sgt. Cindi West said, "Somebody knows something about this case. There's somebody out there that did this, hopefully they've talked to somebody else and we're asking for the public's help to try to find this suspect."

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the killer's arrest. If you have any information, please give them a call at 1-800-222-TIPS.

FUGITIVES WANTED IN NORMANDY PARK April 10, 2015 —
Take a good look at this man and woman Normandy Park police need your help identifying.

Detectives say they opened accounts at two Target stores in the name of a victim robbed during a home invasion. “We had an elderly female who was actually at home during the burglary, she was asleep upstairs, it was early morning hours, we don’t know how many suspects were involved, they broke into her house, ended up taking her entire safe which included a large amount of family heirlooms, precious metals, cash, loaded that up in her wheelbarrow and actually took it out of her house that way,” says Normandy Park Det. Jeremy Hedrick. “They stole enough property to be able to go and open accounts in her name. They used her identity to open debit accounts at Target, then they used that to purchase gift cards and started spending gift cards around the area as well. I’m concerned that if this continues a homeowner’s going to confront them and then something worse could happen than just having property stolen.”

The Hispanic man police need your help identifying wore a black hoodie with ‘Old Navy’ written in white letters on the front at the West Seattle Target and a gray sweatshirt at the Renton store.

Take a look at the photos below showing the vehicles associated with the two suspects: A dark-colored Jeep, possibly a Cherokee and a white Ford Explorer.

If you can tell Normandy Park police their names, call an anonymous tip into:
